DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh Airport

I was very pleased with the hotel on the whole, in terms of comfort and cleanliness. On arrival the receptionist was very welcoming with lots of smiles and information. She made my day by giving the the lovely warm cookie with melted chocolate. A really nice welcoming touch. I have to mention the very lovely evening restaurant staff; three sincere individuals who were superb at making me feel at ease and took pleasure in explaining the menu and their recommendations. They really made my evening on both nights. It was during the 2nd dining experience, I realised they were an actual family. A husband, wife and their son. Originally from Romaina. They were delightful!

Great airport hotel stay before an early flight drop off for family member. Was surprised how underrated this airport hotel is, as had the most relaxed stay and staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Great food and drink options with the bar and restaurant, good breakfast options. Proximity to the airport and the shuttle service provided were a boon as we could use the shuttle at 3am with lots of luggage for the early flight departure, walked back as was only a little over 5min walk back. As we had some time before check out, had to choose between enjoying the spa facilities or go into town, so managed to take the 100bus into the city centre for a few hrs to explore a bit while the car charged at the hotel parking. Even booked to come back and stay for another flight in a month as really loved their vibe!

We booked here last minute with all the flight cancellations on the August bank holiday weekend. Given everything the staff would've had to deal with that afternoon & evening they were all incredibly friendly. We decided between here and Moxy for 2 reasons: 1) DoubleTree could accommodate 4 of us in one room and 2) DoubleTree had a pool...which meant keeping our daughter busy whilst we sorted everything else out. The pool was incredibly big for what we were expecting, and warm - so that was great!

The cookie was delicious, and they allowed me to check in about 5 hours early, which was appreciated since I was travelling alone. The beds were very comfortable and very clean. Even though I was very close to the airport - close enough to watch all the planes taking off from the runway - I didn't have any trouble sleeping, I could hardly even hear the planes. This was super nice since I had an early flight the next morning and wanted to get my rest. I loved the shuttle to the airport, since it meant I didn't have to worry about finding my way there walking or getting a taxi in a new country. Just let the front desk know that you need them to call the shuttle, since it doesn't stop at the hotel unless they know you need it.
